7 Principles For Possessing & Maintaining Our Inheritance

Commandments & principles for possessing & maintaining our inheritance.  The scripture below was given to the people before they entered the promised land so that they wouldn't mess up!

Deuteronomy 8:1Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers.

I believe I can say with assurance that 2020 has been an extremely challenging year for many people.  We are at the tail end of a challenge that we have never faced before.  Although we may have been caught off guard, God knew it was coming.  I don't believe that God created this crisis, but He will use it to wake us up and make us stronger as His people!  So instead of becoming bitter and hard to live with, let's make the best of it.  Let's grow stronger, be more committed, more faithful than ever!

Let's take an inventory and discover where we are spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and financially right now.  Let's take a test and then apply some principles that will guarantee our success!

Christianity is not a cheap religion or a social club we join.  Christianity is about the Christ life and it requires sacrifice.  When we apply the biblical principles of Christianity, it transforms us and every one of our situation!  God has given us conquering faith!

Also, Christianity is about having an encounter with the living God.  When you encounter God, you encounter the transformer!  You are never the same! One thing to remember is this; you must nurture your encounter and walk with God!  Follow the principles.

7 Principles to keep you from stumbling:

2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

#1. Stay focused on Christ your savior, healer, deliverer.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

#2. Pray/the word of God, stay in His presence & in faith
Acts 6:4  but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

#3. Worship God like no one is watching, It's about you & Christ.
Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

#4. Love like you've never been hurt before, forgive!
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

#5. Consistently assemble with other believers under pastoral teaching, protect your house and your leaders.
Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

#6. Honor God by giving tithe and offering.  If a person does not tithe, their heart is not committed to Christ.
Proverbs 3:9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

#7. Purge corrupt people out of your life.  Don't allow people to corrupt your thinking about God & your leaders.

Psalms chapter 1:1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Follow the principles of the word and you will be like a tree, planted by rivers of living waters!  You will bear fruit in your season!  Nothing can stop you!
